BMW M3 Detail Job

Post  Turbo Wax on Sat Aug 23, 2008 9:15 pm

Got an unexpected call from one of my close friends, he was going to stop by to pick up a few pads, one thing led to another and I ended doing a detail job for him, The car is a 1995 M3 but it isn't your average M3, he has spent over $80,000 on it, the motor is fully built and will produce 590rwhp, single turbo with everything you can imagine on it, the paint is original, the car was in storage for 3 years and the last 6 months the car was parked on the driveway, he had the urge to put the car back on the road so it was definitely time for a good detail job for it. The right front fender told us the condition of the car, which turned out to be very poor, after I evaluated the condition of the car I got to work, I did the following steps;

Washed it and at the same time used our oxidation block ( this blowed his mind away )
wheels were cleaned with our wheel cleaner
Dry
Taped the needed areas
Our heavy compound equiped with an orange pad and the porter cable speed set at 4, I ended up using a 6 to finish it.
Our Swirl Remover with orange pad and the porter cable speed set at 6, one pass the switch to a white pad
Pre Wax by hand
Wax by hand
Total time 4 hrs

It is amazing when I see some detail Jobs how many different products some people use, especially to cut.
