Swirl Marks

As the book said,”Theres many ways to skin a cat” so I’m taking the liberty to provide some input and steps that have worked for me in the past.

Some of the most common ways to induce swirl marks onto your surface:

1- Automatic Car washes

2- Wrong type of Microfiber towel

3- Wrong type of wax product.

4- Wrong type of pads

5- Wrong type of machine

6- Harsh polishing compounds

7- Not keeping your wash mitt or sponge properly rinsed.

I wanted to take a moment and thank xxx for putting on a great event. The show was great, the rides were awesome. I would also like to thank Juan Ruiz from Turbo Wax who did the detail on my car.

I loved the products he used and did purchase some at the end and will continue to use them.

The car shampoo, is amazing, 1 small cap in 3 gallons of water did the whole car. The clay on a sponge that needs no lube just soapy water was amazing.

I like to take this opportunity and share some information regarding the usage of Dish-washing Soap- the usage of Dish washing soap within the detail industry seems to be accepted/endorsed and promote by many people including top notch professional detailers, at the same time for some reason it appears that is a dead debate and no end on site to it;

Clarify the Detail

In short, let's begin with the end in mind.

As in any venture we might undertake, let's ask ourselves the question, what is the end result we are looking for?

Now, first things first. Let's understand the term that gets bantered about in the automotive world quite a bit and it is the term "detail". This is usually used in conjunction with our vehicle when we are going to clean it. Let's say for discussion that we have a business of this sort.

There's no way to eliminate brake dust entirely because all friction linings are designed to wear. If the pads didn't wear, they'd damage the rotors - and pads are a lot cheaper to replace than rotors.

The buildup of brake dust can be reduced by applying a coating of wax or polymer-based protectant, or a spray-on wheel treatment. The coating will reduce the tendency of brake dust to stick to the wheels while enhancing the wheel's appearance.

We had great feedback on this subject. European ...

I got this question today so I put a little something together

How often do you recommend giving your car a good wax or even using a rubbing compound? I have always wondered how often to this.

For the first part of your question, I could say that a “good wax” is subjective to who you ask, many people feel that once a year is “a good wax” and they are under the impression that’s good enough to protect the vehicle surface. TurboWax co. is by far, out of ANY business ( not just in the auto industry) that I have ever dealt with, the best for customer service/relations.

This company really knows how to treat its customers. It seems to genuinely take to heart a business model of attracting and retaining customers for life.

I was a customer for life before I even tried one of their products, and I am a cynical person when ...

First, what is a Clay Bar- a General description-?

Clay bar

Clay is a mixture of clay base and various mild abrasives. Clay along with a clay lubricant is used to remove paint contamination. Spray wax, window cleaner or water can work as a clay lubricant. Road ...

New for 2008 ! Turbo Wax HeadLight / TailLight Restoration System

This Product consists of 3 steps with 3 different products to obtain astonishing results. An average procedure is done in less than 30 minutes by an experienced detailer or Weekend Do It Yourself, and the results will last up to 7 months but, we have seen a full 12 month on some test vehicles.

With our kit there’s no need to use sandpaper like many other kits on the market. Those products, if not used properly can damage ...

Today during a detail job I took a break to play around, here's the mother of all over sprays, the car sits in a yard next to a marine paint booth, what you see in the roof is overspray, the entire roof is FULL of it, actually the entire car, or what’s left of it, I was able to remove 99% of it with our bug and oxidation remover, it really did an awesome job, after that I use our swirl remover, pre wax and wax I did use the Porter Cable Machine.

Enjoy it.............

Few Samples of our Swirl Remover

Our Swirl Remover was made for this purpose, to remove "Swirl Marks" all the R&D was done with the intention of creating a product to tackle that problem, pretty much the same way our Tire Gel will not sling.

Turbo Wax Swirl Remover will work with or without our pads. It just happens that after testing over 200 different pads we came up with, we found the perfect matching pad for our Swirl Remover, all due to the texture of our pad.

On another forum, we had a “Friendly Debate” that I'd to call it a “draw,” since neither one of the contenders could make a decision about the targeted subject. During that debate, the performance of the so-called Spray Wax came into discussion. This Spray Wax is a product commonly found within many car care lines - not our particular brand - but a spray wax product itself.

With that in my mind, it got me thinking: maybe my contender is right. Maybe spray waxes are nothing more than a “myth.” ...
